CABARRUS
REGIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IS SEEKING
AN EXPERIENCED ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT RECRUITER
The
position is responsible for the recruitment of businesses in
the following industry clusters: motorsports and
automotive, information technology, manufacturing, corporate
headquarters, biotechnology, health care and supporting
industries. The
position will coordinate initiatives involving the
development of a strong national and international
recruiting program, including
stimulating entrepreneurial
development, developing and maintaining effective
relationships with Site Selection Consultants, Brokers and
other Economic Development professionals, and provide
support for the community’s total economic development
effort.
Successful
candidate must have a minimum of five years experience with
strong results as measured by investments and jobs,
marketing, administrative and communications expertise.
Cabarrus
County, North Carolina is located on I-85 in the
metro-Charlotte market, and is the home of Lowe's Motor
Speedway, Concord Mills (the most visited tourist
destination in the Carolinas), Concord Regional
Airport, as well as major manufacturing, health care and
technology based companies.
The county seat, Concord, was
designated an All America City in 2004.
The second largest city, Kannapolis (population
40,000) is the historic home of textiles and Dale Earnhardt,
and is the host city for the White Sox minor league baseball
team the Kannapolis Intimidators. The community has a
unified economic development style operation and the Cabarrus
Regional Chamber of Commerce and Economic
Development serves as the primary economic
development and marketing entity for the cities of
Concord and Kannapolis, the towns of Harrisburg, Midland and
Mt. Pleasant and Cabarrus County, North Carolina.
