Record Number of Institute Scholarship Applications Received for Review in 2005

A record number of Institute Applications were received this year.  A total of 18 applicants vied for scholarships.  Winners were notified in time to make the May 2nd Early Bird Deadline.  More information on the scholarship awards will be in the June edition of the newsletter.

Special thanks to the Awards and Recognition Committee for their daunting task of selecting the worthy recipients of the Institute Scholarships.  Their next task is reviewing the Executive of the Year nominations.

Executive of the Year Nomination Deadline Fast Approaching

As of April 25th, over half of the member CACCE chambers had not sent in their board of directors’ information to the CACCE office.  If you have not sent your board chair information to Rhonda, please do so immediately.  You can e-mail that information to Rhonda Stokes.  This is very much like the Publisher’s Clearinghouse Sweepstakes – you can’t win if you don’t enter.  Please send in your board chair information to Rhonda so she can send a nomination letter to your board chair.  This is absolutely necessary if you want to be considered for this prestigious honor.  I know you all work hard and are deserving, so please send that information in today.  Letters must go out to board chairmen by May 1st in order for the committee to make a recommendation to the board at the June 9th board meeting.
