presenting
sponsor of the
10th Anniversary Annual Management Conference
a HUGE success!
| CACCE’s
10th Anniversary Annual Management Conference
presented by Duke Power was a huge success.
From the First Annual Journal Communications Golf
Tournament to the closing CEO Roundtable on Sunday
morning, everyone seemed to appreciate the time and
attention put into this year’s conference.
A huge thanks goes to the Annual Management
Conference Committee for all of their hard work;
Chairman, Jim Carpenter; Vice Chairman, Charlie Weiss,
Committee Members Linda Cheek,
Bill Bassham, Allan Libby and John Garman.
See below for a recap of the major events . . . Here
are a few photos from the Past President’s Reception.

LEN
BORNEMANN OF THE GREENWOOD (SC) CHAMBER AND BOB WRIGHT OF THE
ROWAN COUNTY (NC) CHAMBER NAMED EXECUTIVES OF THE YEAR
Choosing
the Executive of the Year is a very long and hard process.
This year we have more nominations than ever - almost
30. But as hard
as it is to choose two recipients form along list of well
deserving people, it is what comes after the decision is made
that is really tricky -
Getting them to the Annual Management Conference
without stirring suspicion and getting their loved ones and
well wishers there without the recipients’ knowledge.
It is very hard for that many people to keep a big
secret like that, to get people coordinated in the same place
at the same time and to keep the ones that are ”not supposed
to be there” out of sight until “curtain time”. But, we managed to pull it off again this year!

Special thanks to all of our
sponsors. Thanks
to their support, we had quite a memorable conference!
We had 29 representatives from 23 companies
participate! That
may be a CACCE record! We
were delighted to see so many CACCE members talking with them
and expressing how much we all appreciated their efforts!
A very special thanks goes to the staff of The Westin
Resort. Their attention to detail and willingness to make our
events their top priority was a key to the success of the
conference. If
you would like the names, addresses or e-mails of any of our
sponsors, let me know. I
will be glad to send that information to you.

PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT
We
had some great sessions this year.
Bob Harris from the Non-Profit Center and Kip Lilly
from Lilly Foresight Dynamics were our headlines and they did
not disappoint. Our special guest Mick Fleming, President of ACCE gave a
lively luncheon speech that many will talk about for a long
time. With great
resources like Pete Woodham with Customized Chamber
Programs for North Carolina and Patrick Mason with the Center
for Carolina Living from South Carolina our own region was
professionally represented.
Plus, our own Doug Croft updated us on the latest Wage
and Benefit Survey of our members.
A Power Point version of the results is available.
Contact Rhonda in the CACCE office to get a copy.
A link to the Zoomerang Survey will be sent in the
Weekly Poll this Friday. |
