Objective of Position
Develops and manages quality Chamber
events and programs; develops and manages
communications, marketing, public relations, and
internal and external relations; and provides staffing
support for all assigned committees under the Strategic
Plan.
Responsibilities
Generates publication materials and
promotions for all departments of the Chamber; develops
and manages event promotion and sponsorship recognition
on chamber website; develops and maintains relationships
with the press and media to increase coverage for the
Chamber; issues press releases/packets when applicable;
designs advertising materials and determines placement
of advertising; develops and manages the publication of
the Chamber e-newsletter; develops and manages marketing
plans on an annual basis; communicates regularly with
all staff to ensure understanding of
communications/marketing activities.
Strategic Plan/Program of Work Responsibilities
Staffs Special Events Council of the
Board of Directors; provides marketing support to other
departments, coordinates and supervises promotion of all
chamber events; responsible for financial results of
special events and programs to meet or exceed budgeted
revenue goals; supervises and reports registrations and
sponsorships for all events; supervises all invoicing
for event attendance and sponsorships; coordinates event
duties for other staff.
Special Project Responsibilities
Assists in the production of the
bi-annual Anderson County map project; manages the
production of the annual Chamber Membership Directory
and Buyer’s Guide; and other duties or projects as
assigned by the President.
Minimal Requirements/Performance Standards

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or
related field
·
Prefer two years of professional experience
·
Proficient knowledge of Dreamweaver (FrontPage and html
formatting) for website and newsletter management
·
Proficient use of Photoshop and InDesign graphic
software
·
Excellent communication and presentation skills
·
Good organizational and people skills and ability to
efficiently handle multi-tasked operations
·
Ability to be flexible with regard to business hours and
accepting new responsibilities
