The Clayton Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking an Executive Director.

With 500 plus members, the Clayton Area Chamber of Commerce (CACC) is the fastest growing Chamber in Johnston County, North Carolina.  Its diverse membership includes small businesses, industries, professional firms, financial institutions, non-profit organizations, government agencies and individuals.  The Chamber is dedicated to building relationships, building business, and building success for companies in the Clayton, NC area. 

The successful candidate will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of CACC, providing overall leadership and administration of the chamber with direct supervision of a staff of two.  Qualifications include:

1. College degree preferred.

2. Combination of experience and/or education that supports the knowledge and skills required.

3. Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

4. Fundraising and events management experience preferred.

5. Excellent relationship skills to work with volunteers, business community, members and staff.

6. Background in economic development is desired.

7. Broad knowledge of computer skills required.

8. Bilingual written and oral language skills are a plus.

The successful candidate must also understand the respective roles that define the board of directors, volunteers and staff. This is a professional, salaried position, which is exempt from overtime pay requirements. It requires self-supervision, policy implementation, leadership and work beyond the context of an eight-hour day without additional compensation. The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the Executive Director of the Clayton Area Chamber of Commerce.  This position may be called upon to perform other additional duties by the President and The Board of Directors.
